A VAMC BY ANOTHER NAME:   A delegation of family, friends, and fellow veterans, led by VVA President Jack McManus, took part in the April 4 renaming ceremony of the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, to the Thomas H. Corey VA Medical Center in honor of the late former VVA National Secretary, Vice President, and President.

READY TO ASSIST:  With provider shortages at the VA stretching the system and demand increasing, the Veterans Health Administration hasn’t expanded the role of Physician Assistants in mental health care since 2015. Kenneth Harbert, Vice Chair of VVA’s PTSD and Substance Abuse Committee. and Thomas Zamiperi, a Past President of the Blinded Veterans Association, make the case that empowering PAs to have wider roles at the VA would be a key to improving access and ensuring veterans get the care they need.
